Marco boats has been building small, but well built alloy trailer boats since the mid 1980’s. Back then times were changing, aluminium boats had started proving themselves against traditional glass options and Marco Boat’s proximity to the Coromandel, and Hauraki Gulf meant they quickly became a popular choice for anyone looking for a proven, capable, alloy fishing boat.

When we took over in 2003, we kept with the basics at first but expanded our model range in 2006 with our 700 Souwester, the 650 and what is now our 725 Souwester followed soon after.

With the explosion of trailer boat game fishing, customer demand saw our range grow again, initially with an 880, then a 950 Souwester that took custom built alloy boat’s to the extreme, with the 950 Souwester winning the Hutchwilco boat show award for “Fishing boat open” category in 2018.

Later in 2018, the first of our 750 and 800 Souwester models were introduced for customers that still wanted plenty of options to make it a custom fishing boat without the cost of a one off.
